As summer slowly draws its way to a close, we look forward to celebrating this year's group of Ka Lei 'Ike students this Thursday! #KaLeiIke is a joint public–private school partnership between Sacred Hearts Academy and Palolo Elementary School with 30 Palolo Elementary students enrolled in a 5 week summer enrichment program on the Academy campus. The goal is to launch girls on the journey of developing additional academic skills, discovering personal passions and working to reach their full potential. The Ka Lei 'Ike program is sponsored by The Learning Coalition. ‪#‎SacredHeartsAcademy‬

Ka Lei 'Ike Kicks Off 3rd Summer Session

Ka Lei 'Ike 2016 Summer Program Participants

Ka Lei 'Ike, a joint public–private school partnership between Sacred Hearts Academy and Palolo Elementary School was launched for its third year on June 1st. Ten new fourth graders will be joining the current 20 Palolo Elementary students for a 5 week summer enrichment program on the Academy campus; the goal is to launch girls on the journey of developing additional academic skills, discovering personal passions and working to reach their full potential. The Ka Lei 'Ike program is sponsored by The Learning Coalition. #SacredHeartsAcademy #KaLeiIke

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Induction Ceremony

On Thursday, May 12th, Sacred Hearts Academy’s Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica inducted 23 new members. New members pledged to promote the Spanish language and culture through leadership and example. Returning members led the ceremony entirely in Spanish and eagerly welcomed their new sisters.

Academy Speech Team Claims 1st Place In Punahou Speech Tournament

The Academy's Grades 5-6 Speech Team competed in an intermediate speech tournament hosted by Punahou School on April 30th, 2016. Academy teacher and Speech Club advisor Susan Phillips shares:

"Ten schools came with their best efforts and competition was very fierce. I am very pleased and proud to announce that our young Junior Lancers took First Place for Highest Percentage of Superiors! Out of a possible 48 superiors, these talented young ladies accumulated 43 superiors (89.58%)!They represented Sacred Hearts Academy as true Lancers, and I personally am a very proud mama for all of their commitment and hard work in the speech program!"
