PWH Scholars Gather for Retreat, Faith & Fellowship

PWH Scholars, led by their counselor Mrs. Cleo Eubanks and student support specialist, Mrs. Melissa Thach, gathered for a retreat on Wednesday and Thursday, taking time to focus on their personal, social, and spiritual growth while strengthening their sense of community and connection with one another.

On Thursday morning, the Scholars attended the Mass of the Holy Spirit, joining Catholic educators from across the state in worship. The Mass was celebrated with the Most Reverend Michael Thomas Tupou Castori, S.J. and Bishop Emeritus Larry Silva. The Scholars also had the opportunity to serve the Catholic school community by assisting with hospitality and helping with refreshments following the Mass. It was a meaningful morning of faith, service, and reflection, offering an opportunity to renew their commitment to serving others and strengthening Catholic education throughout Hawaiʻi.

Following the Mass, the Scholars returned to St. Anthony Retreat Center, where they continued their time together and welcomed their families for a special dinner. The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for Scholars and their loved ones to connect, share in fellowship, and celebrate the supportive community that surrounds them.

Campus Update: Power Restored (8/24)

ACADEMY CAMPUS POWER RESTORED

The Sacred Hearts Academy campus recently experienced a power outage. We know a power outage can create some uncertainty, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through the situation. 

We are happy to share that POWER IS RESTORED to campus at this time and our programs will CONTINUE TO RESUME AS NORMAL at this time.

Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic at Sacred Hearts Academy (9/5)

Aloha Sacred Hearts Academy ʻOhana,
 

Sacred Hearts Academy is pleased to serve as a host site for an upcoming CVS / Longs Drugs Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, September 5.
 

Individuals and family members with HMSA, Medicare Prime, UHA, HMAA, or TRICARE may drive onto the Sacred Hearts Academy campus and receive up to three vaccines without leaving their vehicle.
 

• General Public | 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Those interested may register by scanning the QR code on the attached CVS flyer.
 

• Special SHA ʻOhana Hours | 8:00–9:00 a.m.

A special one-hour time slot has been reserved exclusively for Sacred Hearts Academy families and friends.
 

To take advantage of this designated time, please complete a Longs Drugs Consent Form for each individual receiving a vaccine and bring the completed form with you on September 5. Anyone who has Medicare would also need to fill out the attached Assignment of Benefits Agreement and Consent Form.
 

As an added benefit, those receiving vaccinations will receive a $5 off $20 coupon and a FREE swag bag.

Research, Discovery, Growth - Diedre Kunishige, '27

Research, discovery, and growth. ✨

This summer, Dierdre Kunishige ’27 partnered with Dr. Chong of Chaminade University to explore methamphetamine use and treatment in Hawaiʻi.

Along the way, she developed data analysis skills in Python and RStudio, created a research poster, and presented her work alongside fellow undergraduate researchers.

Campus Update: Re-Opening (8/18)

CAMPUS RE-OPENING/PROGRAMS RESUME

TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2026

Aloha Sacred Hearts Academy ‘Ohana,

Sacred Hearts Academy will reopen and resume normal operations on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. All classes, athletics, after-school activities, and enrichment programs will resume as scheduled.

Please continue to follow all government and civil defense guidance for your particular area. If your family remains affected by the weather and your daughter is unable to attend school, please follow the Academy’s regular attendance notification protocols.

As you return to campus, please drive carefully and remain attentive to road conditions. The health and safety of our students, families, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and cooperation as we worked to ensure that our campus was ready to reopen. We continue to keep all those affected by the storm in our prayers.

CAMPUS UPDATE/CAMPUS CLOSURE (8/17)

CAMPUS CLOSURE/ACTIVITIES CANCELED

MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 2026

The Sacred Hearts Academy Campus will be closed on Monday, August 17, 2026, due to impacts to the campus and inclement weather impacts across the island. All on-campus activities, including athletics, after-school and enrichment programs, are canceled.

This decision is in partnership with our brother school- Saint Louis School.

All families are encouraged to monitor local conditions closely, follow instructions from county civil defense officials, and avoid unnecessary travel to protect public safety. Thank you for keeping our community in your prayers.

We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and security of our campus. We will provide updates regarding the reopening of campus.

CAMPUS UPDATE (8/14)

Aloha Sacred Hearts Academy ‘Ohana,

We continue to closely monitor the developing storm system and its potential impact on our community. A Tropical Storm Watch is currently in effect for O‘ahu.

At this time, the Academy will continue normal operations. Our maintenance and operations teams are monitoring the campus and taking appropriate precautions in preparation for the weekend.

We have several Academy events scheduled over the weekend. Please look for communications through the Sacred Hearts Academy website, social media, and directly from event organizers regarding any changes, postponements, or cancellations.

We will also communicate with our ‘ohana regarding school operations for Monday as we assess weather conditions over the weekend, the safety of our facilities, and safe access to campus.

The safety and well-being of our students, families, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority. Because conditions may vary across the island, we encourage everyone to monitor local weather and emergency communications closely.

Hula Dance Studio Blessing

🌺 A New Space for Hula, Culture & Connection 🌺

Sacred Hearts Academy recently celebrated the blessing of our new Hula Dance Studio, a dedicated space where students will deepen their connection to Hawaiʻi through hula, language, history, storytelling, and tradition.

Our hālau, Nā Puʻuwai o ka Ua Līlīlehua, takes its name from the misty rain of Līlīlehua, traditionally associated with Pālolo and the upper areas of Waikīkī—the rain of the area surrounding Sacred Hearts Academy. Like the cool, gentle Līlīlehua rain, our young women are called to care for and nurture their ʻāina and community of Kaimukī. 🌧️🌺

This school year, Kumu Haukea Ho ’97, a proud SHA alumna, will lead hula instruction for middle and high school students, as well as after-school enrichment classes.

Through hula, students will learn more than choreography. They will discover Hawaiian language, history, values, storytelling, and a deeper respect for place—honoring traditions while carrying them forward.

Mahalo nui loa to Moʻolelo Studios for helping bring this vision to life and investing in the cultural education of our students for generations to come. 🤍💛
