Educating the Heart Through Youth Outreach

Alika Cambell, Waikiki Youth Outreach Center Director, Hale Kipa
Alika Campbell, director of the Waikiki Youth Outreach Center, a service of Hale Kipa,  receives a check for $5000 from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation on December 19, 2017.

Through a program entitled “Educating the Heart”, the Foundation partners with schools to teach students about non-profit organizations in Hawaii.  This is the third year that the Junior Theology class, Call to Justice, has worked on a project in collaboration with the Weinberg Foundation in favor of Youth Outreach.

Juniors Jasmine Policarpio, Agnes Brown and Ashli Sordillia served as leaders of the project called Fast for a Better Tomorrow. The Fast involved 125 Academy students who collectively served over 500  hours of community service with special emphasis on learning about the situation of homeless youth in Honolulu. Students gathered donations of can goods and supplies and to make over 200 first aid and hygiene kits for the center.

Mahalo for Supporting #SacredHeartsAcademy

Mahalo for supporting #SacredHeartsAcademy! (Donate)
Dear Academy Alumnae & Friends:

In this holiday season, with a New Year approaching, we reflect on the days behind us and are grateful for the gifts received in support of the Academy. We fondly think of our alumnae and friends and wish them a joyful Christmas.

Because of your kindness and generosity, students continue to thrive as they develop skills to be competent and caring future women leaders. If you haven’t made your annual gift, we invite you to think of your alma mater and Academy 'ohana before the new year:

Message From Mr. Randy Fong To All Alumnae

Aloha Academy Graduates!

More Info. & RSVP: https://tinyurl.com/SHAAF17
I hope you are enjoying your Fall semester in college. At Sacred Hearts Academy, we are getting ready for our annual Alumnae Forum, which will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates like yourself to come back to the Academy and share your college experiences with our  current students. The Forum will be open to students in grades 7 - 12, and the format will be the same as last year with breakout sessions by grade level, including the morning start time.

Keep in mind this date is later than in past years, so some of you may be back on the mainland by the date of the forum. So, let me know either way if you can or can not attend.

The tentative schedule is for the Alumnae Forum to start after morning homeroom. You should be on campus by 7:30AM for a short orientation. The forum will be from 7:55AM to 9:00AM, followed by a hearty breakfast meal and fellowship for all of you, and a mini college fair at recess (40 minutes) at 10:40AM.

Last year we had 35+ graduates returning to our campus for the forum!

More information will follow, but if you are able to attend, please go to: https://tinyurl.com/SHAAF17 to sign up!

If you are able to, please bring brochures, viewbooks, etc., from your college--you can check with the Admissions Office at your college; they will be more than happy to give you materials to distribute to our students.

Good luck on your exams!
-Mr. Fong
